“If I must live, let it be for love and art.”
A creative powerhouse and visionary for the modern age, Raven’s multidimensional talent and unforgettable energy awakens the Spirit. Gifted with passion and skill as a singer, writer, director, speaker, and teacher, Raven’s deep roots are in creating experiences of togetherness and harmony through full-spectrum expression.
Once upon a time…
A true embodiment of the global voice, Raven was born in the Phillippines, raised as a toddler through Saudi Arabia and then Montréal, and ultimately brought up in the Pacific Northwest, on the unceded traditional territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
From a young age she felt her calling and destiny to scribe and perform on many stages the great artistic works within her. She began performing with choirs at the age of 8, touring internationally through her teens with two of Dr. Tony Araujo’s critically acclaimed groups, St. Patrick’s Regional Choir and Spirit Alive Chorale, before going on to create her very own vocal ensemble— the award winning Wings Vocal Collective.
Through a decade of collaboration, service, and self-education, she’s arrived at a rich creative zenith; producing music and experiences while fostering a community of loving and talented artists, dedicated to bringing an integrated light to the world of music and culture.
Her studies, and later, work in World Religion, Literature, and the Arts at the University of British Columbia sparked a connection with the archetypal Raven in the mythology of the Haida Gwaii, as well as a resonance and reverence for the First Peoples of every lineage. She is a lover of all things ancient, mystical, and folkloric, and her exploration into the diverse cosmology of indigenous culture have led her to sing, explore, gather, and create all over the world, from Scotland to Portugal to Indonesia.
Raven’s fierce passion for music coupled with her love of bringing people together has naturally led her to host ceremonial song circles in communities around the world for the past 5 years. At the forefront of her leadership lies a desire that all humans come home to the power, beauty, and intrinsic divinity of their own voice. She currently resides on the ancestral land of the Tongva people.
Her debut single “Roots” is the first song off her debut album Medicine, produced by the Grammy award-winning Tristan Boston.
